It’s hard to believe we’ve already had several weeks of school! Our students have been working hard. Today they participated in a bus evacuation drill and did a great job practicing what to do in case of an emergency on a school bus. We are so grateful for all you do as parents and guardians to support our students each day.
As a reminder, our first half day of school is coming up on Wednesday, September 15. On half days, all students will be dismissed at 11:40am.
Have a wonderful weekend MacArthur!

With suburban Cook County now in a level of high community transmission of COVID-19 (Cook County Department of Public Health), District 54 has decided to create COVID Dashboards on each school’s website to provide families and staff with a transparent summary of instances of COVID-19 reported to District 54. A positive case indicates that the student or staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. Please report cases of COVID-19 to our school so that we can initiate contact tracing. Parents/guardians of students identified as close contacts will be contacted directly to discuss next steps. District 54 will update these dashboards by 3 p.m. on Fridays when school is in session.

COVID Drive up testing
As we have been navigating keeping our students safe and healthy, we appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child(ren) are coming to school feeling their best. By having District 54 offer free COVID-19 drive-up testing to all students and staff, this has afforded us another opportunity to support us in providing a safe and healthy learning environment. Free testing takes place all school days a the District 54-Rafferty Administration Center at 524 E. Schaumburg Road from 7:30AM-4:30PM.
Covid Updates and Symptom Monitoring
At this time, staff and students will not be completing a daily digital screener each day. In order to ensure we are keeping all staff and students safe please monitor your child’s health each day and keep them at home should they display any symptoms listed below. All individuals are required to stay at home while symptomatic and are encouraged to test for COVID-19. Please notify our school office or nurse if you or a member of your household tests positive for COVID-19. Symptoms include:
• Fever or chills
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Muscle or body aches
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
