Principal Message

Dear MacArthur Community,
This week our students participated in our first fire drill of the year and did a fantastic job! Way to go Toros! It is hard to believe September is already coming to an end. One thing we are looking forward to in October is our student-led parent-teacher conferences on October 7 and 8. It is important that all families sign up for a conference time. Conferences are scheduled online this year. To schedule a conference, please visit and enter the information in the text fields. Please make sure you enter the information that matches the student’s registration. If you prefer to have your conference virtually via Zoom, please add a message to the conference when prompted and type in the word “Zoom.” If you prefer to have an in-person conference, please leave this blank. We encourage all families to sign up for a conference time at your earliest convenience.

For more detailed information on how to login and navigate the site, please view our guide below. If you have any questions, please call 847-357-6650 or email [email protected]

School News
Arrival/Dismissal Safety
We need your cooperation to help us ensure the safety of our students at arrival and dismissal. We understand these are busy times of day and thank you for your patience. A few important reminders to help us ensure safety:
• Do not make a U-turn on Chippendale
• Do not cross your children in the middle of the street.
• Avoid walking in between busses.
• Use the crosswalk located at Chippendale and Hillcrest (There is a crossing guard there to ensure students cross safely.)
• Please be patient and cautious, as there are many children who are dropped off and picked up at the end of the day.
• Please do not park in front of the school. This area is reserved for our school busses.
• Please do not double-park on Chippendale and avoid blocking driveways.
• Parking lots are closed during arrival and dismissal times (8:25-8:40 and 2:50-3:10).
Also, we know our dogs are beloved members of our family. However, we ask that if your furry friends come with you for drop off or pick up, you wait across the street or off school grounds as we have many children who are afraid of dogs.

ESL Classes at Armstrong
Armstrong School is offering online Adult ESL classes this fall via Zoom. These classes are for all parents who are interested in learning basic English conversation skills as well as beginning reading and writing skills in English. Classes will take place on Wednesdays from October 6th through November 17th from 6-8pm. Click here to learn more in Polish, Spanish, or English.

Food Pantry
Our district provides many resources for families and one of those is a food pantry. The pantry is available for all MacArthur families. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, families are not able to visit the pantry in person, however we are more than happy to fill an order for your pick up at Muir! In order to access the pantry, fill out this Google Form. Once we receive your order, it will be packed up and ready for pickup at Muir. We will call you to coordinate a pick-up time.

Some of our new items include cereal, pasta, sauce, peanut butter, pop tarts, fruit snacks, ramen noodles, soups, protein bars, AND assorted toiletries! Keep up to date on when we have new food arriving by liking our Facebook Page. Click here  to access the page. Order today before some of these amazing items are swept off the shelves!
