Dear MacArthur Families,
What an incredible school year! Also incredible is the fact that we are wrapping it up! We want to thank our amazing MacArthur Community for your ongoing support and encouragement this school year. We hope you have a summer full of opportunities to create memories with friends and family. Have a wonderful summer Mac! Keep showing your Mac STRONG!
Memory Books and Materials Pick Up
Today our in-person students received their 20-21 Memory Books and a few additional end of year items (vary by grade). We invite our virtual families to stop by the office today between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If you are not able to stop in today, you can come by June 1-4 between 8:00 and 4:00 PM. At this time families can pick up any items we may still have for students including pictures, materials, etc. Any items not picked up by Friday, June 4th at 4:00 PM will be discarded.
Vaccine Clinic – June 1
District 54 and District 211 will host a joint COVID-19 vaccination clinic, in partnership with Jewel-Osco, from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 at Hoffman Estates High School, 1100 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates. Anyone receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on June 1 will be automatically scheduled for the second dose on June 22 also at Hoffman Estates High School.
This vaccination event is open to individuals ages 12 and older. Parents/guardians should accompany anyone under the age of 18. In addition, the parent/guardian must complete and sign the COVID-19 Consent Form (Spanish Consent Form) for each child. To schedule a vaccination appointment, click on the Jewel-Osco moderated link.
All K-7th grade students who will be returning to D54 will be keeping their devices and headsets over summer. We are thrilled to share that they will be able to continue to access a variety of websites that will continue to support them over the summer months. Dreambox, Reading A-Z, the Virtual Summer Learning Academy as well as Epic will be sites that will still be available to them. The children truly love these sites so we are very hopeful you can prioritize this over the summer months. Please note, your child will bring these devices back to school with them on the first day of the 21-22 school year. All current 6th graders will bring their device with them to junior high.
If your student will not be returning to District 54, your child’s device must be returned to school on May 28th, the last day of school, before 4:00pm. Please note, if your child needs any files from this device, you will need to back the device up prior to returning it.
It’s hard to believe that summer is already upon us! District 54 has some exciting opportunities for students to continue learning and maintaining their progress throughout the summer months! To find out more specifics about our Virtual Learning Academy, our Summer Reading Lists, DreamBox and Learning A-Z click here! These activities are perfect to help sustain your child’s academic skills over the summer or even to prevent boredom on a rainy day!
